Here are my
thoughts about the week in Italy.
I had been
wanting to visit Italy for a long time before I even heard about the project.
My friends and other people had told me how beautiful the country is. Now I got
the chance to actually visit Italy, and more: see the Italian everyday life,
school, families etc. I’m more than happy for that!
Italy
surprised me positively. I loved the sea, the amazing landscapes, warm weather,
social people and last but not least, the food - everything was so tasty! I
wish we had that kind of delicious ice cream flavours here. There are plenty of
them in Italy! I haven’t regretted even once that I took part in this project.

When I
think about the week in Italy, lots of memories appear to my mind but not a
single bad one. I remember all of us singing, laughing, being tired but happy,
relaxing on the beach and shopping (At least the Finns were shopping). I
remember one moment somehow very clearly: When we arrived in Italy on Sunday.
The plane landed, we took our luggage with us and got out of the airport
building in sunny Pisa. All the Finnish students and teachers were smiling, and
I believe that all of us were as cheerful as I was, having no worries at all.
And the week was just going to get started.
Besides
speaking English, there was some use to my almost non-existent Spanish skills,
and I even understood some Italian every once in a while. I could have stayed
much longer in La Spezia. Cultures in Finland and Italy may be different, but
that just makes the journey a great experience for us. In my opinion everyone
should see different cultures; it makes us grow as a person and a human being.

Finally, a
huge thank you for every one involved in the project. Especially to my lovely
hostess Ester and her family :) Grazie!
